I’ve been looking at the website of photographer Dillon Marsh, based in South Africa. Someone had posted a link on Facebook to this series of photographs, of nests built by Sociable Weaver Birds in telegraph poles in the southern Kalahari region.

His work seems concerned with the interplay of nature and the man-made world, and it’s all fascinating. These are from a series on cell phone towers in Cape Town, disguised as trees.

We’ve got those fake tree tower things here too – I’ve seen a few, done a few fast double takes from a train and didn’t know whether to believe what I’d seen until i discovered they do exist. Mind you those you’ve featured are not very well camouflaged are they, the ones I’ve seen were amongst real trees.
