In our recent guest Real Reveal post, Decorator’s Notebook reminded me of another drawer problem in my life. The one in the bedroom full of necklaces, earrings and bracelets that would get more wear if they’d only show themselves in the hurried mornings. Drawers are no place for jewellery. Trays and bowls, that looks doable. But also makes it feel like a new tray or bowl is necessary and I’m not spending money on this, er, problem.
Religious sculpture-cum-hanging rack thing, not so sure about you.
And, something quite achievable – hanging basic hooks.
Pinterest turned up a wacky world of old spice racks, letterpress cases and repurposed picture frames – mainly requiring some crafting that this blogger just doesn’t have the heart for.
How do you keep your jewellery and what’s the best idea you’ve seen so far?
I got hubby to install little hooks on the inside door of my wardrobe. On these hang necklaces, belts, silk scarves, bracelets etc. This is a great solution! No mess. No dust.
Sounds great and no need to have the most perfect jewellery collection then either (my beach-bought 90′s Sicilian necklace might not look so hot on the wall).
A mixture:
clear plastic divided box from muji
old mug tree, painted white
pretty wooden bowl
mini silver bowl for the really good stuff
I got those sticky backed plastic hooks and put them on the inside of my wardrobe doors. Make sure you get strong ones for the heavier pieces but now can see all when I open the doors to get dressed.
