The Selby and Observer want your place

March 22, 2012

Do you, like the mysterious mask-wearing man below, think you might have a beautiful, interesting home?

Say, with a collection of groovy stools lying around…

…or a horse in your living room?

Then you need to contact the Observer Magazine. Launching what sounds like an exciting new column with Todd Selby about hipster homes in the UK, the mag has asked us to ask you if you have, ‘odd, covetable, beautiful, lived-in homes – perhaps displaying collections, colour, evidence of an interesting life. Flats and houses, and sheds, and treehouses, all over the UK.’

Interested? Then send your essential credentials – name, pictures, location – to: magazine@observer.co.uk

Shoots are taking place over the next few months.

We look forward to seeing Todd Selby in your place.

He would come to my house, take one look, slap me in disgust and leave. No, there shall be no invite coming from me. No sir.

Is there anyone in the UK cool enough for The Selby? Outside of Shoreditch anyhow…

Is that horse really a standard lamp or is that an optical illusion? Nice to see that not all old race horses go to the dog-meat canning factory or is it not really an example of the taxidermist’s art?

ST, I bet he loves a good tin collection. DN, SE London is now where it’s at, haven’t you heard? And Helene, think it’s best not to question that horse too much. It’s by Moooi if you want one.

Thanks MFH. I looked up the Moooi lamp but I think I’ll give it miss. I was glad to see that at £3,688 it would be delivered free but as the light bulb is not included……..!
