Olaf Hajek

February 6, 2012

I was going to issue a warning about why you shouldn’t hanker after a huge blackboard wall like this one spotted on The Selby…

if in fact the thing you love about it is the excellent drawings. My own blackboard wall is currently ‘decorated’ with the constituent elements of an apple crumble, a dozen songs I liked from the radio, a local painter’s phone number and a child’s sticker. And I don’t have attractive handwriting, by the way.

Anyway, shelf that thought for I logged onto the owner of the above blackboard’s website – Olaf Hajek – and got totally stuck on the home page.

How beautiful is that? Here are more of his pieces…

And the rest of his house.

Looked at his house and of COURSE he’s wearing cool socks and of COURSE he’s made his gas meter cool. COURSE he has.

Those chalk drawings are beautiful – I quite seriously fancy them as curtains…

amazing…although you never know – it might look better with a smear of apple crumble and a sticker! ;)

Ha ha! Not a word of a lie, My Friend, I also assumed you meant a smear of crumble, not a recipe, when I read the post. Maybe that says more about me and Baby Style File than about you…

I think it says more about my poor wording. How dare you both! x

Oh, I feel I should clarify the apple crumble is the recipe written out and not a smear of actual food. That would shock me that would.

This is very timely… I’m currently debating adding a blackboard to Le Flat. Just a door not a whole wall though. Still um-ing and ah-ing.
