Imagine if The Shining had been filmed in a Scottish castle instead of a Colorado hotel. Might it have looked something like this?

The full photo collection includes some shots of empty prams and high chairs that have a Turn Of The Screw feel, to me. But whether intentional or not, there is something fascinating and a bit spooky about the empty rooms and threadbare furnishings.*
* I was going to put a picture of the visually incredible sets from The Shining after the first picture, but just googling it got me too scared. I’m not kidding.
