Perfect grey revealed

December 20, 2010

…at last. Yes, by the time my living room had got to this state:

paint samples

It was clear even to me that I had to just make a decision on a paint colour and stick with it. So last weekend, with sterling help from the HG, I took the plunge.

Farrow & Ball Strong white

No it’s not white! It’s Farrow & Ball’s Strong White, and in real life it’s a pleasing pale grey. Sofa wall before:

And after: (although that door still needs sorting out, as does all the paintwork.)

Strong white Farrow & Ball

It may not look like a big difference to you, but to me it’s a gorgeous grey delight. Thanks to everyone who patiently listened to me wiffle on about it since the summer. For anyone who managed not to hear about it, catch up with my Great Grey Journey here, and here. Now I promise never to mention it again.

Looks brilliant, good work. Has the Mr Sheen even been moved in honour of the reveal? x

Two years later, are you still happy with the same colour? Having a north-facing dilemma myself

Thanks for the question – yes, absolutely. It’s perfect. Not too dark at all, but definitely not white. Go for it x
